Instruction for Use (IFU)

  • Begin by gently inserting the tube through one nostril, directing it toward the back of the throat to avoid pressure on the sinus cavity.
  • Guide the tube down into the esophagus, advancing slowly as it reaches back of throat.
  • Give a cup of water with a straw to sip, helping to pull the tube down through the esophagus. Ask the patient to take a deep breath and hold it.
  • Incase if the patient gasp, cough, or show any distress, stop and withdraw the tube, taking a short break before trying again.
  • The tube is advanced to the correct length, as indicated by markings, and then secured with tape and is checked to ensure the tube is correctly placed by X ray or as medical protocols as applicable.
