Instruction for Use (IFU)

  • Tear open the pouch & take out the burette type infusion set.
  • Close all controllers.
  • Open spike’s air vent cap if using rigid I.V. container.
  • Remove spike protector and insert the spike firmly into the infusion container.
  • Suspend infusion container with attached set. Open upper clamp and allow approx. 30 ml solution to flow into the graduated chamber, do not use needle puncture the air vent. Close upper clamp.
  • Gently squeeze and release drip chamber till it is approximately one third full.
  • Remove luer cap. Slightly open flow regulator to clear air from tubing. Close flow regulator.
  • Open upper clamp & allow solution to flow into graduate chamber till the desired volume is obtained. At this time take care not to wet a filter with too much solution. Close upper clamp.
  • Perform vein puncture.
  • Gradually open flow regulator, adjust drop rate & control infusion flow with the flow regulator. The floating valve will shut off the flow when infusion level in graduated chamber comes to zero, to prevent air embolism.
  • When more infusion is required, close flow regulator & open upper clamp to fill graduated chamber till desired level. Close upper clamp and squeeze the drip chamber gently to float the shut-off valve and then restart infusion as in step-10.
